Fostering interconnection, consolidating efforts, and striving for development —The College of International Education organized the International Forum on Vocational Education of the “Belt and Road” International Business Education Alliance

As its education has become increasingly international-oriented and educational opening-up to the outside world has been continuously expanded, China has now become one of the main forces of international education exchange and cooperation. In recent years, the Ministry of Education has successively deployed and implemented a number of initiatives to jointly build the “Belt and Road” in the field of education, continued to expand educational cooperation with countries along the line, and the scale of overseas students in China has continued to expand.

The “Belt and Road” business university alliance, proposed by our school, aims to integrate Chinese and foreign educational resources, environment and models, and explore a new mechanism for cultivating transnational high-level business management talents in the context of the “Belt and Road” initiative, through management cooperation and exchange activities in the field of teaching and scientific research, student exchanges and mutual recognition of credits, scientific research cooperation, and holding a high-level brand thematic forum with international influence in the field of business higher education. To create a good atmosphere for strengthening international exchanges among business universities, promoting school enterprise cooperation, accelerating transformation and development, and build an open international platform for countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” to promote academic exchanges, economic and trade exchanges, the transformation of technological achievements, and the sharing of educational and teaching resources.

This year’s International Forum on Vocational Education of the “Belt and Road” International Business Education Alliance was held on November 19th. The forum focused on vocational education, with four experts delivering speeches as the keynote guests for this forum, including Ms. Mamyrova Gulnur Dzhekshebaevna, Director of the Department of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Tuychiyev Jamshid Xajiakbarovich, Deputy Principal of Tashkent Professional College of the Railway Transportation,Uzbekistan, Mr. Gor Sargsyan, Director of the Confucius Institute in Armenia, and Ms. Tracey-Ann Alecia Watson, Manager of the Jamaican Human Resource Training Agency. A total of more than 40 officials, experts, and scholars in the field of vocational education, from 15 countries including Belarus, Palestine, Jordan, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Rwanda, South Africa, Suriname and Uganda, participated in this forum in both online and offline ways, jointly exploring the current situation and future prospects of vocational education development in each country.

After the sharing by the four experts, the participants had an in-depth discussion on common issues encountered in the development of vocational education, such as the connection between vocational education training systems, models, and high-level talent training systems. Everyone agreed that on the path of vocational education, countries have great potential to continuously optimize the positioning of vocational education, strengthen its adaptability, and fully promote its development.

The College of International Education has proactively promoted all kinds of international education and training, led international exchanges and cooperation in education with the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, taken the “Belt and Road” initiative as the axis of exchange and cooperation, and strengthened connectivity with universities in various countries, in a bid to form a joint force, connect high-quality resources, and assist in building a higher quality business education system to collectively promote advancement.
